In New Zealand and Australia we have the AS/NZS ISO 8124 Standard. This means that toys sold her need to meet this standard but also means that toys purchased from overseas may not meet them. This is the peace of mind you get by dealing with a reputable manufacturer such as Lily & George. Not satisfied with just that we looked further afield to both Europe and North America.
They have the EN-71-3 and the ASTM standards which although cover most of the same ground, in some areas are even stricter than here in New Zealand & Australia. Once again our toys have met or exceeded these standards.
